We partnered with Multiverse, a rapidly growing EdTech company, to redefine the way apprenticeships and alternative education paths are accessed, managed, and understood. Over 18 months, we delivered a user-centred, design-led transformation that rebuilt Multiverse's digital platform, driving hyper-growth, enhancing user engagement, and positioning Multiverse as a major player in the EdTech sector.
A Clear Vision to Empower and Scale
Multiverse, founded by Euan Blair, aims to offer young people and career-switchers an alternative to traditional education pathways through high-quality apprenticeships. As Multiverse grew, the team needed a platform that could keep up with their ambitions, communicate their unique value to a diverse audience, and support international expansion. We worked closely with them to develop a reimagined, cohesive digital experience, ultimately helping them secure significant Series C and Series D funding and empowering their teams with the tools to drive long-term growth.

A Strategic, User-Centred Approach to Drive Engagement
Working alongside Multiverse’s teams, we carried out in-depth interviews, workshops, and design research to understand the motivations and needs of three primary audiences: apprentices, corporate partners, and employers. Our research informed a targeted content strategy, refined messaging, and a new information architecture that prioritised user journeys and conversion metrics.
Aligning a Complex Service Offering with User Needs
We simplified and clarified Multiverse’s multi-layered service offerings, working with partners Koto and Saffron to implement a new brand. Through iterative design and testing, we created a streamlined, engaging platform that showcases success stories, encourages conversions, and facilitates easy navigation for users from diverse backgrounds. Our collaborative process allowed us to co-design solutions that resonated with all stakeholders, setting a new standard for Multiverse's user experience.
A Robust, Future-Ready Technical Foundation
We recommended a stack aligned with Multiverse’s scalability and maintenance needs, including a NextJS front-end for speed and SEO, a headless CMS for flexible content management, and a Dockerized infrastructure for seamless deployment. Familiar technologies like Prismic, Cypress, and Jest allowed the Multiverse team to easily maintain and expand their platform while focusing on strategic growth.

Agile Collaboration and Strategic Impact
Throughout the engagement, we embedded agile methodologies, enabling close collaboration across product, marketing, and technology teams. This not only sped up delivery timelines but also fostered a cohesive product-focused culture within Multiverse. With fortnightly sprints, retrospectives, and shared planning sessions, we ensured transparency, alignment, and progress towards measurable outcomes.

Outcomes and Lasting Impact
The redesigned platform drove substantial business results: Multiverse saw a surge in customer engagement, secured high-profile business partnerships, and expanded into the US market. Notably, the new platform empowered Multiverse's sales and marketing teams to focus on strategic growth rather than operational tasks, directly contributing to a 4x increase in apprentice placements across companies like Microsoft, Citi, and Just Eat. With our support, Multiverse’s digital transformation achieved award-winning recognition, including the Webby People’s Voice award for exceptional UX, establishing them as a leader in digital innovation within the education sector.
The VC’s think it’s exceptional. The output has been astonishing.
